Despite mother nature's attempts the 2019 edition of the Air Force half marathon went off after a 90 minute rain/lightning delay. The course was a new course, but as a race newbie, I didn't know the difference. The course has some hills, but they were well spaced out to me. The late race weather was hot and humid, and the race danger was elevated from yellow to red.
On course support was good, and the hydration stops were well stocked and manned.
I love the finish under the wing of a C-17.
I would like to run this race again.

Course needs updating. 4 years no changes. Post race food has been minimal and lack luster the past two years. Very disappointing!!!
The Expo was very nice and swag bag including shirt was great!!

The course was great! Lots of race support and local support along the course. There was even someone giving out bacon on the course!! Perfect amount of hills. My only complaint is the that the after race food choices were not very good...a piece of a bagel, banana, fruit cup, water and Gatorade was all they offered. Bring your own after race recovery food if you want anything else. Each year that I e done this one there has been less and less for you at the finish line, this is my 5th year doing this one. The medals are really nice though!

This race was very well organized and executed. Apparently the course had changed from prior years which mean more hills, and there were a few spots running through the base that were hot (in full sun) and mundane (no crowds at all and lots of boring unmarked buildings). It was awesome finishing by the aircraft, and the participation gear was great. Overall, I’d recommend this race.

The Expo was awesome. Lots of vendors and the chance to try out equipment. The half marathon had a delay due to weather conditions. Overall it went well. I wish Mother Nature knew it was Fall and provided cooler temps. Course support was great. Really appreciated the wet sponges, I think was at mile 7. I liked finishing the race under the wing of the plane.
I would recommend this race.
