I enjoyed this race. It was well organized and well executed. Plenty of port-o-toilets and good on-course support. The course was a rolling out and back with beautiful ocean views (with dolphins!). The swag and medal were very nice and the beer tent was great.

This was a beautiful out and back coastal run. Plenty of parking at the start of the race, it's the back lot of a shopping mall. Lots of porta pottys at the start line. Course support was good. Announcers were entertaining. Highly recommend.

I enjoy the Carlsbad Half Marathon, it has what the race organizers describe as a "rolling course" which I find to be pretty accurate. It isn't flat, but it isn't "hilly" either, and extra bonus, you run by the ocean for most of the race! There are a lot of great spectators cheering runners on too which is also really nice.

my biggest gripe is that the full and half marathons are each given their own lanes on the same loop. this causes a lot of congestion with all the half people sharing 1 lane. . normally runners have 2 lanes in each direction. the race starts so late at 8am because of the churches in the area. it was so hot this year with temps in the mid to upper 80s. I didnt appreciate the design of the course with the hills towards the end of the run. the finish area is crazy . there are not enough exits for cars trying to leave the mall. i paid to stay at a official race hotel for the shuttle to and from . the shuttle never showed up to pick up hotel guests and i was forced to walk away from the mall to get a lyft. my guess is because of the traffic the shuttle couldnt get to the pick up spot.

Great hilly race. This is the first of a three race series in San Diego. You must go to the expo of pay $20 for race day bib pick up.

Always professionally managed and staffed. The weather was perfect. New snack bags and beer garden after the finish. Great event!

Fun race. Ran along the beautiful coast of California. Almost makes me want to move back there. People were friendly, especially the group handing out beer and another with the tequila shooters just before mile 12.
