pretty course, scenic and varied surfaces. Hilly miles 7 and 20; two loops. weather is hit or miss-- perfect in 2016 way hot in 2015.

I enjoyed everything about this marathon. The course was scenic and never crowded. The logistics were simple. The medal, shirt, and banana were outstanding! The volunteers and spectators were enthusiastic.

Nice course and good organization. Lots of stuff that could be improved but overall it's what you might expect from a small race. My impression was that most of the effort was focused on the half, with those of us finishing the full in the 5+ hour range feeling a little on our own.

Easy to get to - we took Amtrak. Hotel half mile from the start, well organized. Marathon field limited to 1,000 runners so us slow folk covered many miles alone. Second half on a boardwalk with no shade and the temp shot up - no fault to the race organizers.

Good race, mostly well organized and decent course. Very small race expo. Some water points inconsistently place (and not manned). It's a small marathon field with only slightly more than 300 runners.

I ran the 2019 edition of the Delaware Marathon. Getting there: easiest airport is Philadelphia International which is about 20 miles away. The race partnered with the local Doubletree which offered a discount and a later (1 pm) checkout. The expo was really just a packet pickup with a few additional local vendors. The start was along the river, about half a mile from the host hotel. The first half of the marathon was a nice loop of Wilmington while the second half was an out and back on the Jack Merkel trail. Support was well spaced and consistent. The marathon field isn't huge so on the back half there are times you may find your self alone. The finish was pretty typical with fruit, water and Utz snacks. Nice bottle opener medal. Would consider running again if I needed another Delaware.

Two loop course run through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Well supported and good eats after. A bit hilly for this flat lander but not too bad.
