This was a great small scale race. Spent a weekend trip with friends and family in the area, which if you haven't been to Gettysburg, you should go soon! The people and volunteers were awesome and the shirts/medals were pretty sweet.
The overall ambiance was there and the route was a challenging, yet scenic route through mostly rural neighborhoods. I would have liked to see the route in a more battlefield setting vs countryside.
Overall, a race that allows you to pick the North or the South and has you compete to win a beer glass is a great idea and was blast. I love smaller races. Would recommend this to everyone. Make sure to plan a longer trip or at least be able to dedicate the day prior to a tour of the battlefield. You can even save your legs and take a self guided audio tour in your car (like we did).

- short-sleeve T-shirt: not cool
- First and last 3 miles through the Battlefield, the remaining 20 miles on country roads east of town
+ Host hotel location perfect. The start/finish was literally outside the side door of the Courtyard
+ Very nice medal
+ Flagger Force (professional flaggers) secured the intersections and directed traffic
+ Course well-marked, measured right - my Garmin showed 26.22 miles at the end
I will run it again, especially with a long-sleeve shirt.
