Maine Coast Marathon
By Binh H. Nguyen on May 13, 2025
Very friendly, small race.
Excellent communication prior the race.
I stayed at the hotel, south of the airport (with 18 mile from the race).
Easily parking (with shuttles).
(I parked at the High School).
Volunteers were very supportive and dedicated, albeit the the weather was cold/foggy...
And the Pacer teams were very encouraging.
I enjoyed the post race (free) non-alcoholic beers and Ice creams.

Overall, I strongly recommended for the state of Maine.

Nice, rolling course. No overly daunting hills, but plenty of variation to keep it interesting. The 2019 course passed nice ocean-views, including Walker Point (Bush-family compound), and coastal towns. Rest stops were well-manned, but other course crowds sparse. Start and finish areas were nice. It's point-to-point, with the full and the half starting in different places, so you run the full without being swallowed up by the half participants - only seeing those you pass at the end.

Great course
By Blake Lanford on May 22, 2018
There were many good things about this marathon and the course itself was the highlight. It’s not a big crowd, so the start at Kennebunk High was stress free and easy. The course heads south and downhill toward the coast with some small rolling hills. A bulk of the early mileage is in and around Kennebunkport with great ocean views and crowds of spectators through town. There are a few gradual climbs in the second half, which alternates from main road to neighborhoods/beaches. The finish is on a college campus in Biddeford. The post-race festivities include a food tent, beer garden, band, massage tables, and a few vendors.

Beautiful Course

The Maine Coast Marathon course scenery was beautiful. Many miles through quaint little Maine coastal towns and along the rocky Maine coast line. There are your fair share of rolling hills, to be expected in Maine! The race was well organized. The volunteers were plentiful and helpful. I would add this to your "to do" list.

Great course and support crews. The marathon started in Kennebunk and finished in Biddeford, but transportation was provided from the finish line to the start. Very well organized and really enjoyed the run.
