Cellcom Green Bay Marathon

Sadly, because of the weather the 2019 Cellcom Green Bay Marathon was canceled. They did allow those of us that had signed up for the marathon to run the half marathon.
The half marathon was fairly well run and the after reception was good. Also, the "lap around Lambeau" was fun.
All in all I would rate this an average half marathon. As noted above I cannot say what the full marathon was like because of the weather.

Full marathon course canceled!

I am very disappointed with the full marathon being canceled due to flooding. Marathoners were informed 12:46 in the morning that the full course was canceled. No apologies, no alternative routes. Instead we were asked to run the half. I traveled all the way from Indiana, flew, stayed in the hotel for 3 days and not able to run the distance I signed up for. That was a very big disappointment! The organizers lack foresight. They did not take into account the unpredictability of Wisconsin weather. To think that this is a new route, they should knew better. How about put the route in a safer-non floor zone area? I know I am asking too much but I just shows how dissatisfied I am. The after finish place was pretty uneventful. Runners were cold, no Mylar blanket, no place to sit at. We’re all exposed to the elements while we wait for love ones to finish. The organizers failed the runners that they should be taking cared of. The same people who paid, traveled, took time to patronize them!

Green Bay, welcoming and supportive

I enjoyed running Green Bay to check Wisconsin off my list. The race really paid attention to details - bib pickup was easy and accurate, the expo had the right amount of merchandise and informational booths, and the parking for both pickup and race day was easy.
The course was mainly concrete, with the remaining a mix of asphalt and brick. It was a little tough on legs not quite trained back to marathon distance for the year! I greatly enjoyed running on the track installed at the old stadium - the bounciness was well timed!
The water stops were all great except one where I had to go back and get my own water. There was plenty of crowd support in most places on the course. Running through the stadium was interesting!
Bag dropoff and pickup was easy, I was able to get food and beverage easily afterwards, and I enjoyed the portion of the finish party I was able to attend. This is a charming and well-run race - definitely worth your time!

Flat, fast course through neighborhoods, a beautiful paved trail along the Fox River, finishing with a lap around the stadium at Lambeau Field. Smaller size but good support, a marathon relay runs with the full, the people of Green Bay are out and supportive. Did I mention FLAT and FAST? Great course to run a BQ.

A very good local race

The course is scenic and mostly flat. Organisation and logistics were very good and the volunteers helpful. The only problem for me was the absence of the race day BIB pickup. I would highly recommend this race to everybody.
