Baltimore Marathon
By Diana Khaksar on October 28, 2018
Very hilly course. Not a run for a fast time, but very well supported, great weather, nice post run area, but those hills.

WONDERFUL FUN FILLED MARATHON
By Erica D. Sanders-Hurst (E-Boogie) on October 24, 2018
This Marathon was one of The Best I've run... It was scenic... We ran thru a zoo... We ran by a body of water... There were plenty of snacks and aide stations... They even opened the bags of chips (plain and BBQ) and white cheddar popcorn in advance... There was confetti burst into the air at the start of each Wave... It truly was a Running Festival... Before I forget... There were lots of hills... Rolling hills... The more challenging hills were in the second half... I ran this race with a bum left ankle due to an ankle sprain four weeks prior and still managed to finish... I highly recommend that you RuN this race... I promise you won't regret it. :)

Best Part of Course is the First Half
By Dawn Fletcher on October 28, 2024
Other than the course being congested with 10K and Marathon Runners, the first half of the marathon course was my favorite. I found the second half to be mostly boring and very hilly. Had trouble with a couple of cars getting onto the course and almost hitting me, but otherwise it was very well supported. Water stops every 2 miles was tough in the later part of the marathon as it got hot.

Fun, scenic and well-organized - would recommend

I had a great time running the Baltimore Marathon in 2024. The race was well organized, pre-race communications were clear, and the expo for checking in and picking up the bib was good, with a nice selection of vendors. The start/finish and expo were all in the Inner Harbor which made using public transportation easy. I was lucky that we had beautiful weather in 2024 but apparently it can also be colder and rainy there in mid-October. You’ll get a thorough tour of Baltimore without a lot of repetition- you’ll see the whole Inner Harbor area plus parks, the zoo, and a variety of neighborhoods. After the race there was a runner celebration village with food and entertainment- plus a tent with PT and massage which I happily took advantage of.

Great race experience

Interesting course touring Baltimore. I enjoyed the variety of scenery and running through some of the neighborhoods. This race was well supported and organized, I would recommend this race. Sure, it's a little hilly, but varied.
I removed one one star from this race for my only criticism is that the finishers festival ends one hour before the time limit. As a back of the packer, it would be a nice to have the festival going for the full duration. However, I understand the needs of the many vs. the few, and I guess I need to run faster??
Still, as a back of the packer, the course and finish line were still there for me, kudos to the support especially this year the rain picked up at the end.

Baltimore Marathon

Love this course. Rolling hills but great course. Plenty of support and aid station. Love that half started later and separate from full so there were no split. Traffic control was great except for some rude drivers not paying attention to traffic directions and almost run over some runners because of impatience. Post race food was good and well controlled. Wish there were added photographers post race because lines were long to get pii oh at race photos at the designated areas. Took our own. Love the crab medal!!

There are probably tons of reviews on the Baltimore Marathon already. It is not bad for a big race. It finishes at the inner harbor. You run from the suburb (at least it feels like it to me) to the inner city. There were maybe 2000 marathon runners, but the streets were congested with those who were doing the half or the relay. Can't help. Races make money from the shorter distance runners. There are some hills for the city folks. I think the city and the harbor is beautiful.

good race

good race ,well supported, good crowd support, packet pickup had a good assortment of vendors, lots of hills but course took you thru many parts of the city including the waterfront, the zoo ,johns Hopkins, felt bad for the traffic delays, thx to the people of Baltimore for their patience

Loved it!

Absolutely loved the Baltimore Marathon! Great weather (which certainly helps!!), well supported, fun course with rolling hills (my fave). Loved starting at Camden Yards and separately from the half marathon. Expo was pretty boring for an event this size but easy to get in and out of! Really can't say enough good things about this one... If you're on the fence, DO IT!

Great way to see the city!
By Matthew Perkins on November 2, 2018
Well organized event. Small expo but usual mix of stands including gel supplies. Camden yards open for rest room use prior to race. Interesting course with good support in the city center and around the harbor. Fun running through the zoo (keepers lined the route holding animals). Nice net downhill finish. Good medals and finish line festival. Ample parking around the stadiums and good public transport.

Baltimore Running Festival
By Haywood "Turtlerunner" Crowder on October 27, 2018
This was a Super event with friendly people all around. Unusual Start Time with 5K beginning at 7:30. the Full Marathon at 8:00am , but half beginning at 9:45am. 3,000 participants in the Full, and 12,000 for each the 5K and half. There were police running along side and the mayor ran the event also.
