Small town fun!

If you like small races and small town ambiance, THIS race is for you. Situated only 20 miles or so north of Eugene, this race puts on a great event. Getting there isn't terrible either, flying into Eugene or Portland (90 minutes or so).
Race expo was Friday from 5-7 pm outside at the start line. Live music and scheduled speakers, free food and water. Race Director was very engaging and made an effort to chat with every participant. Total of 54 marathoners and 122 Half Marathoners.
Course is flat and fast. Half Marathon started 1 hour after Full. My total elevation change was 104 feet according to Garmin. It is an out and back on country roads after the first 1.5 miles. Aid stations about every mile with multiple Gatorade flavors and water. Only critique was the plastic cups. Roads were not closed but there was not much traffic with Course marshals at every intersection and each turn. Weather was about perfect with a start temp of 55º warming to 75º.
Highly recommend this race.

This is a great race to do long stretches of road, have a small number of people (there are pacers). There are aid stations every mile. The mile markers were off the entire course so be careful. They were short until mile 14 and then were long. Not many snacks at the finish line but cool medal.

Well organized.

It is a well organized event with amazing volunteers. Race shirt was nice and the medal was nice as well. Needed more food/drinks at the finish line. You are pretty much running on pavement surrounded by farm fields most of the race. There was a pretty good angle to the side of the road, especially on turns. It really started to bother my ankles and feet more than most races. But overall, I was happy with my experience as this race and I would recommend it. Worked great to do the Appletree Marathon in Vancouver, WA the next day.

Flat Course

First course I've run where I can honestly say it's flat. All pavement, asphalt and some concrete on the parts where you run along the river. Weather was great this year. Overcast to rain, temps no higher than 65. Volunteers stayed out even though some were getting very drenched. Day of, packet pick-up. The RD went out his way to recognize special achievements like 100 marathons.

Great experience overall!

I loved this race. Registration was inexpensive & swift. Packet retrieval was flexible. Volunteers were great. This ran through a residential area (0-6), then along Williamette River (6-18), then back to residential. There were volunteers at every turn to make sure you were on track. Mile 6-18 was breath-taking with stunning views. There were ample fluids & amenities. Overall, a great experience coming from PHL. The shirt is nice & the medal is above par. David did an excellent job!

This run was very well organized, fantastic support, young men and ladies standing at almost every turn giving encouragement and directions. A beautiful course through the neighborhoods, parks, and the Willamette River with lots of shade. The run benefits Girls on the Run. I highly recommend this race in beautiful Eugene.
